A ship only sinks when the water gets inside.

I’ve spent most of today racking my brain for something to write about this evening. I’ve had zero ideas for the last few days.

However, I was talking to a friend this evening about everything that’s going on and the conversation was quite negative. We soon realised this and decided to put an end to it, this reminded me of one of a quote I saw a few weeks ago.

“A ship can only sink when the water gets inside.”

I’m paraphrasing slightly but that’s the bare bones of it. It’s a quote that states the obvious, clearly. But it’s also a great quote for the battle against negativity and what’s going on inside our heads. Negativity only affects us if we let it.

That might be a negative friend, a bad boss, the current state of the world, or anything negative. It can only affect us if we let it.

At the end of the day we’re in charge of what’s goes on inside of our heads. The world is full of negativity and it can be very easy to let it get to us but that’s only if we let it.

I think a lot of people give too much head space and energy to people and things that don’t deserve it. Whether you realise it or not, you are the most important thing in your life.

It might seem like there are more important things but there isn’t. You are number 1, end of story.

With so much negativity around us on a daily basis, protecting our own peace is the most important thing we should focus on. Placing that as the number one priority, no matter who it offends is more beneficial to living a happy life than you might realise.

Look after number one.

Another thing, this week we’ve all been watching the US elections. However, I saw someone talking about “no matter who wins, winners still gonna get up and win in the morning.”

I’ve been thinking about that a lot. No matter what’s happening in the world, winners are still going to win. They’ll find a way.

Be a winner. Find a way.

See you next week.
