How do you react to a challenge?

If life was easy, it’d be boring.

Life is full of ups and downs, challenges and times when you think to yourself “What’s the actual point of what I’m doing?”

Everyone is faced with challenges, just in different shapes and sizes. But there is one question that every person must ask themselves, no matter how big or small the issue they face.

“What am I going to do about it?”

It’s the only question you should ever ask.

When presented with a challenge, what are you doing to do? Are you going to shy away from it? Or are you going to stand up to it and overcome it?

This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot this week, because I’m facing challenges of my own.

Personally, the way I deal with a challenge is to first take a step back and assess what’s actually going on. Sometimes, you can be too involved in the challenge and you can’t see it for what it really is so you need to step back and just take it in for a second.

I like facing challenges head on. I’ve got a bit of a “F*ck you” personality where if I’m told I can’t do something, someone doesn’t believe in me or the challenge is big, it makes me want to prove everyone wrong and succeed. I haven’t always had this mentality towards, it’s only developed as I’ve grown older. As a kid I was quiet and reserved, shy as most people would call it. Growing older though, I came to the conclusion that if I wanted to reach the level I want to in life and realise my biggest goals, then I have to be able to stand up to the challenges that life puts in front of us. I think there’s also a part of me that can’t say no to a challenge because I want to see what I’m capable of. I know that my current level of ability is nowhere near what I am truly capable of.

It doesn’t really matter what the challenge is or in what area of your life it is, there’s only one option. Rise to the challenge and fight.

One thing I constantly remind myself is that I’m in charge of my own life. No one else has control over what happens in my life. Ultimately, it is down to me. Whatever it is going on in my life, it’s down to me to sort it out.

As I’ve said before, nothing changes if nothing changes.

In 2020, it’s time the challenges in our lives are faced head on. There are two choices, face them or cower from them. Only one of those options provides you with growth.

I’ve realised that I haven’t posted any of my social channels on here yet. I suppose that’s because I wanted to get the first few weeks out of the way first so I could prove to myself that I was actually going to do this. I haven’t nailed the routine yet but I’m yet to miss a week.

I’m currently in the process of launching a business called Behind Sport so if you’re interested in the business side of sport then give us a follow. We want to be the best in the industry at what we do, there’s not too much there at the moment but it’s slowly going to get better and better over the next few months!
